Fertilization & Weed Control for a Flawless Lawn

A 6-application custom feeding and weed-control program built for lawns in Irwin, Delmont, Murrysville, Greensburg, Latrobe, New Stanton, and surrounding areas.

The Foundation of a Healthy Lawn

A vibrant, barefoot-perfect lawn doesn't happen by accident. In the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, varying weather patterns demand a precise, scheduled feeding program. Our custom fertilization plans deliver premium nutrients to push deep root growth and establish a thick, resilient canopy of grass that naturally crowds out invaders.

Aggressive Defense Against Local Weeds

Generic treatments often fail against the stubborn weeds native to Western Pennsylvania. Our comprehensive weed-control strategy uses pre-emergent and post-emergent solutions to eliminate crabgrass, dandelions, and notoriously resilient weeds like yellow nutsedge. We target the weeds at their roots without harming your healthy grass.

  • Soil testing to find out exactly what nutrients your lawn needs (N-P-K & micronutrients).
  • Custom nutrient schedules tailored to your yard's specific soil chemistry.
  • Pre-emergent barriers to stop spring weeds before they sprout.
  • Targeted elimination of stubborn nutsedge, clover, and broadleaf weeds.

Lawn Fertilization Program: Six Timed Applications

Our program is designed around the biology of Western Pennsylvania cool-season turf. Each application provides precise feeding and weed prevention timed to what your lawn needs at each point in the season:

Application 1: Early Spring Round 1
Pre-emergent Fertilizer

This application prevents the germination of summer annual weeds, such as crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, and goosegrass. It also provides essential nutrients to nourish your lawn as it emerges from winter dormancy.

Application 2: Late Spring Round 2
Pre-emergent Insecticide Herbicide Fertilizer w/ micro & bio-nutrients

A second round of pre-emergent ensures a robust defense against summer annuals. During this phase, we apply a specialized insecticide to target sub-surface larvae, including grubs, armyworms, and weevils. This application also controls existing weeds while promoting vigorous growth and vibrant color.

Application 3: Early Summer Round 3
Fertilizer Herbicide

We apply a slow release fertilizer designed to feed the lawn into the summer. This service also includes targeted spot treatments for any persistent weeds.

Application 4: Mid Summer Round 4
Liquid Fertilizer

We apply a mid-summer liquid, low-nitrogen fertilizer enhanced with amino acids and other essential nutrients. This treatment assists the lawn in recovering from the stress of summer heat.

Application 5: Early Fall Round 5
Fertilizer w/ micro & bio-nutrients Herbicide

This treatment utilizes a nitrogen-rich fertilizer to boost growth and color following the summer season. A broadcast herbicide treatment is used to manage existing weeds. For lawns prone to winter annuals like annual bluegrass, chickweed, or henbit, an optional pre-emergent can be applied.

Please note: If a pre-emergent is applied at this time, overseeding cannot be performed until the following season.
Application 6: Late Fall Round 6
Fertilizer with high potassium

The final application of the season features a high-potassium fertilizer to nourish the lawn before winter dormancy. This promotes long-term root health and ensures a rapid green-up in the spring.

Optional Services

In addition to our core program, we offer optional specialized treatments on an as-needed basis:

Pest Control

Treatment for adult surface and sub-surface insects (e.g., grubs, chinch bugs, ticks) provided on an as-needed basis.

Fall Aeration and Overseeding

Professional cultivation and seeding to improve lawn density and soil health.

Lime (if pH is acidic)
